Rising Tide Explorers has a SHOP!
RTE recently acquired and partnered with the long time local staple, Naples Outfitters, to better serve Southwest Florida’s Outdoor Community
We are incredibly excited to announce that we have recently acquired and partnered with Naples Outfitters! This has not yet been formally released to the public, but we wanted to give all our RTE Explorers the inside info before we made the big public announcement! Naples Outfitters has been a staple in the outdoor community of Southwest Florida for about 18 years. As the only local resource for reliable outdoor gear, apparel, equipment, top brand kayaks & paddleboards, roof rack systems, and all things that help you comfortably explore the outdoors of Southwest Florida & beyond…Naples Outfitters also brings expertise and a curated experience for it’s customers in helping them explore the great outdoors locally and all over the world.

The shop has a reputation for providing this expert service and their passion for providing people access to the great outdoors has led to this exciting new partnership. Our founder and lead explorer, Ryan Young, has teamed up with long time Naples Outfitters manager & owner, Ashley Couturier, to continue providing that excellent service and expand upon what both Naples Outfitters and Rising Tide Explorers have to offer this amazing community.
“It was a no-brainer! We’ve always had a dream of expanding upon our ability to serve the local outdoor community, and owning an outdoor shop is the most exciting thing possible for any Gear Head like me. Ashley and Naples Outfitters truly care about what they do and provide a curated experience for long-time customers with endless expertise and the best equipment for you and your next adventure,” said Ryan on the new partnership.
“Getting your outdoor gear from Naples Outfitters is an experience and level of service that you just can’t find at a big box store or on the internet, and Naples Outfitters will provide us with the opportunity to help further build SWFL’s outdoor culture and share this incredible wild place to another level. Our mission is to help others see and appreciate our amazing backyard like we do. Now we can provide them with the equipment necessary to do just that coupled with expert advise, training courses, and outfitting services!”
While he’s like a “kid in a candy shop” when it comes to outdoor stores, Ryan said it was Ashley and the Naples Outfitters Team that really sealed the deal.

Ashley’s passion for the mission of Naples Outfitters gave her the strength to power through some difficult times for the retail industry and overcome various hurdles that required a strong and dedicated person to ensure that the outdoorsman of Southwest Florida could still be served by a local outfitter.
“She really cares about what we are doing here and knows how important it is to maintain a strong resource for the outdoor community in our region. This is especially true in a town sitting right on the edge of one of the most unique ecological places on the planet, the Everglades. Collier County is over 74% conservation land, and Ashley knows how important it is to help others explore and appreciate it all so that we can better protect it. We want people to view SWFL as a place to explore the great outdoors. At Rising Tide our slogan is, ‘you can’t see Florida from a lounge chair,’ and Ashley has been working for years to help people go beyond the beach and into some of the most beautiful and wild areas in the USA.”
Ashley commented on the new partnership and shared her excitement for the new efforts and services that the shop will be able to provide. She looks forward to bringing in Rising Tide‘s team of field biologists who test outdoor equipment and apparel to it’s limits while conducting research in rugged and remote areas across our region on a regular basis.
“This partnership is bringing together two entities that truly care about our area and our community. Our passion for the outdoors and helping others to discover it will bring us to a new level of outfitting and allow us to prepare anyone for any kind of adventure they are hoping to go on! With new inventory to accommodate outdoor adventures like camping, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, birding, beachcombing, overlanding, and more…we can help prepare anyone for any adventure they have planned anywhere in the world, and even help them plan it!,” Ashley said describing the exciting new additions to the shop.

Formerly on Shadowlawn Dr., the shop has a new location at the center of the Bayshore Arts District directly across the street from Ankrolab Brewing Company. In a growing area of town, we can think of no better addition than the area’s only locally owned and operated outdoor equipment and kayak shop. Renovations are currently being completed and will host an array of new services that can be enjoyed by our customers.
- NEW INVENTORY – Kayaks (Hobie, Eddyline, Old Town, Ocean), Paddleboards (SIC, Flying Fish, Tahe), packs, tents, sleeping bags, camping gear, hiking gear, roof rack systems, parts and accessories, outdoor apparel, accessories, gadgets, and more will be available at the shop to meet any and all needs for your next adventure.
- THE SERVICE BAR – Come get your kayaks and paddleboards repaired at the new Service Bar! Most repairs don’t take more than 15 – 30 minutes, so take a seat at the live edge bar top and have a cold one! Beer, wine, and other cold beverages will be available at the service bar for those who want to enjoy a cold refreshment while they wait, or just want to come hang out in the most awesome outdoor shop in SWFL!! Doing some shopping? Make it a sip & shop or grab a cold one to enjoy on our outdoor patio. Looking for a good happy hour spot for your community or organization? Look no further than the Service Bar!
- EXPLORER’s CORNER – With the area’s only large comprehensive map of all paddling trails, hiking trails, launch sites, camp sites, and all of the best places to explore in our backyard…the new Explorer’s Corner will serve as a centralized resource for all things outdoors in Southwest Florida. Schedule an outfitting appointment to gear up for your next trip, or just stop in to get information on the best places to explore in the area. Book kayak, paddleboard, and boat tours; equipment rentals; paddling lessons; kayak and paddleboard demos; educational/training courses; and more to experience the best parts of Southwest Florida on the best trips available. Lined with guide books, maps, and every other resource we can find, the Explorer’s Corner will serve as your concierge to wild SWFL with local experts who have explored all corners of this amazing place.

Over the last 7 years, Rising Tide Explorers has strived to provide unique outdoor experiences to our locals, visitors & guests with the most qualified and fun guides in the region. As Southwest Florida’s only biologist owned and operated ecotour outfit, bringing science to the people is our passion! Thanks to your support for what we do and the fun memories we’ve made together over the years we have been able to support dozens of local science professionals and students by providing them with a relevant and reliable income stream, we’ve started doing our own independent research, and we have been able to raise record breaking dollars for our partners, the Friends of Rookery Bay! A portion of the proceeds from tours and rentals go to support the research, conservation, educations, and stewardship activities of the Rookery Bay Reserve, and last year we were able to help generate over $1 for every acre of Rookery Bay Reserve…thanks to YOU!!
